French Government Approves Establishment of Joint Center with the Technion for Researching Embryonic Stem Cells

The French government has approved the establishment of a unique joint center for embryonic stem cell research between the Inserm Institute and the Technion’s Ruth and Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine. The center will be dedicated next Monday, September 18, 2006, in the Office of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the Technion, Prof. Ido Perlman. The center, which will be called Insertech, is the result of a joint initiative by Prof. Joseph Itskowitz-Eldor of the Technion’s Faculty of Medicine, who is a world renowned researcher in the field of embryonic stem cells, and Prof. Daniel Aberdam, a senior researcher and expert in stem cells and skin at the Inserm Institute, which is France’s national health institute.
